Takais Brown Dismissed From UGA Basketball Team

Georgia Bulldogs

Takais Brown has been dismissed from the Georgia Bulldogs Basketball team, Dennis Felton announced last week. Brown was already suspended for the first 9 games of the season for violating the University’s new academic attendance policy.

From UGA Sports Communications:

Senior forward Takais Brown has been dismissed from the University of Georgia basketball team for violation of team policies, according to an announcement Friday from head coach Dennis Felton.

“I’m both disappointed and sad today to release Takais from the team,” Felton said. “He can continue as a student here at Georgia and will remain on scholarship. It is my hope that Takais continues his work towards earning his degree, which is certainly within his reach this summer.”

Brown, a native of Flint, Mich., played in 31 of Georgia’s 33 games last season, leading the Bulldogs in scoring at 14.2 points per game. He also had the team’s highest field-goal percentage at 56.6 percent, a figure that ranked 33rd among all NCAA Division I players.
