Alabama Rolls Over Georgia 41-30

Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Blackout didn’t bother the Alabama Crimson Tide one bit. In fact, it may have given them more focus on the game itself. The Tide took advantage of several Bulldog mistakes and jumped out to a 31-0 halftime lead. Georgia rallied in the 2nd half, but couldn’t overcome the big deficit and fell to Alabama 41-30.

UGA didn’t get on the board until 11:07 left in the 3rd quarter on a Blair Walsh field goal. Ten minutes later Knowshon Moreno scored from 2 yards out to give the Dawgs their first touchdown.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to no. 10 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and 11th in the AP Poll. The good news for the Dawgs is that USC, Florida and Wisconsin also lost.

Next up for Georgia is an off week followed by a home matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. Last season, the Vols did to Georgia what Alabama did last night. Tennessee led the Dawgs at halftime 28-0 and went on to win 35-14.
