Georgia Crushes Central Michigan 56-17

Georgia Bulldogs

Unlike the Georgia Southern game, the Georgia Bulldogs started the game strong and finished the game strong. The Dawgs built a 28-0 lead and rolled over the Central Michigan Chippewas 56-17 to improve to 2-0. Tailback Knowshon Moreno carried 18 times for 168 yards and scored three touchdowns, giving him six total in the first two games of the season.

Matthew Stafford was efficient again, completing 18 of 28 passes for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mohamed Massaquoi caught both touchdown passes, a 3-yard pass in the first quarter and a 54-yard bomb in the third.

In the second quarter, Bulldogs defensive end Demarcus Dobbs intercepted a deflected Dan LeFevour pass and returned it 78-yards for a touchdown. It was the first UGA interception return for a touchdown since Tra Battle against Auburn in 2006.

This Saturday, September 13, the Bulldogs travel to Columbia to face the South Carolina Gamecocks (3:30 p.m., CBS). The Dawgs owe the Cocks big time after the Cocks’ 16-12 victory in Athens kept Georgia out of the 2007 SEC Championship game.
