5-Star Cornerback Branden Smith Commits To The Georgia Bulldogs

Cornerback Branden Smith of Atlanta, Georgia (Washington H.S.) has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for 2009. Smith is the 17th verbal commitment for UGA. Rodney Garner was the primary recruiter of Branden Smith for the Bulldogs.

Smith (5-11, 171, 4.4) had offers from most of the top schools including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Branden Smith is rated as a 5-star recruit by Rivals.com. They rank him as the no. 4 cornerback and the no. 31 overall recruit in the 2009 Rivals100. Scout.com ranks Smith as a 4-star recruit and the no. 7 cornerback.
