Georgia Blown Out By Florida 83-57

SicEmDawgs.com

Prior to tonight’s game at Florida, the Georgia Bulldogs had lost 10 straight games against the Gators. Make it 11 now. The Bulldogs sputtered on offense and couldn’t stop Gator guard Nick Calathes in route to a 83-57 blowout loss in Gainesville.

If that isn’t enough to depress Bulldog basketball fans, this might. Out of the Dawgs’ 11 straight losses to the Gators, 10 in a row have been by double-digits.

Nick Calathes put on a show against the Bulldogs, gaining his second triple-double of his career. He scored 20 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Florida. The Bulldogs were led by Corey Butler and Howard Thompkins with 10 points each.

The loss drops Georgia to 9-11 and 0-5 in the SEC. They have now tied their prior losing streak of 7 games under Felton. The previous streak occurred in Dennis Felton’s second season (2004-05) when the Dawgs dropped 7 straight SEC games and finished 8-20 (2-14 SEC).

Felton continues to come under fire and it is more likely every day that this is the last season for him at Georgia. Although nothing is official, the message boards were lighting up last night with rumors that today would be Felton’s final day. That remains to be seen, but again, it’s probably not a question of if, but when.
