The Bulldogs let another big lead slip away, this time at home in their SEC opener. Leading by 10 with just over 12 minutes remaining, the 15th ranked Tennessee Volunteers rallied to beat Georgia 86-77. Georgia had its last lead at 74-73 with just over three minutes remaining but was held scoreless until the finals seconds of the game.

Although it seemed like the Dawgs missed a lot of free throw opportunities, they did shoot 72.4% from the line (21-of-29). Tennessee did not fare as well shooting only 57.7% (15-of-26).

Terrance Woodbury led the Dawgs with 18 points. Trey Thompkins scored 14 points and Dustin Ware added 11. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-1 in the SEC and 9-7 overall. Their next game is Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. at Vanderbilt.
