No. 1 Diamond Dawgs Sweep 2-game Series Against No. 22 Clemson

The Diamond Dawgs, ranked 1st by Collegiate Baseball, swept a 2-game series against the rival Clemson Tigers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Georgia beat the 22nd ranked Tigers 6-5 at Foley Field in Athens and 4-2 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson.

In last night’s game, the Bulldogs trailed 2-1 heading to the top of the 9th inning. The Dawgs were able to score three runs and then Will Harvil shut the Tigers down in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the victory. Georgia has now won four straight over the Clemson Tigers.

The Diamond Dawgs (24-3, 7-2 SEC) host the 5th ranked LSU Tigers (21-7, 6-3 SEC) in a 3-game series this weekend in Athens. Tickets for all three games are completely sold out.
