Diamond Dawgs Swept by Florida, Now Losers of Six Straight

SicEmDawgs.com

The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team was swept by the Florida Gators this weekend in Athens. Add to that two losses to Ole Miss and a loss to Jacksonville State and what do you get? A six-game losing streak that has the Diamond Dawgs plummeting in the baseball polls.

Once ranked no. 1 in the nation, the Bulldogs have fallen to 13th in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll, released Monday. In the Baseball America poll, Georgia has fallen all the way to 22nd.

The Dawgs have two SEC series remaining, at home against Vanderbilt (5/8-5/10) and at South Carolina (5/14-5/16). In between those two sets is a game against Georgia Tech at Turner Field (5/12). If the Bulldogs want to repeat as SEC Champs, they likely need to win all six remaining SEC games.
