‘Russ’ will serve as the UGA mascot for the Georgia Tech game and possibly the bowl game, the school announced today. Russ, 5 years old, is the half-brother of UGA VII, who died on November 19.
Russ will not become UGA VIII. The official Georgia Bulldogs mascot will be chosen in early 2010.

Is there a better reason than a brown spot that Russ will not become Uga VIII? Like his current family does not want to give him up? Because if it’s just the brown spot, it’s leading to the overlooking of a doggie who appears awesome! I mean, UGA is not an all white school, so why should Uga be all white?

I love Russ!!! Anybody who agrees with holding him back due to brown spots is racist. Its the 21st century– Russ vs. the SEC will be the new Brown vs. Board of ed. if you don’t open your mind and your heart to Russ, Georgia!!! Go RUSS!!!!!
