DT Chris Mayes Commits to the Georgia Bulldogs

Chris MayesDefensive tackle Chris Mayes of Griffin, GA (Spalding High School) has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. He is the 16th commitment for the Dawgs for 2011.

Mayes (6-5, 295) was primarily recruited by Rodney Garner and Todd Grantham. He committed to UGA over offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Memphis, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss.

Rivals.com ranks Chris Mayes as a 3-star recruit and the #31 defensive tackle in the country. Scout.com also ranks Mayes as a 3-star recruit and #45 at his position.

Mayes is UGA’s first 2011 defensive tackle commitment and another member of the “Dream Team” of Georgia recruits.

Update (02/24/12): Chris Mayes is currently attending Gulf Coast Community College in Wiggins, MS and has committed to Georgia for the 2013 class.
