Jay RomeTight end Jay Rome of Valdosta, Georgia verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs today on ESPNU. Rome is the 20th commitment for the Bulldogs for 2011.

Rivals.com and Scout.com both rate Rome as a four-star recruit and the no. 4 tight end in the country.

“I think I’m going to stay in state and go to Georgia,” said Rome. “Georgia’s a great school, has a great football history. People call it Tight End U. Just at the end of the day, it just felt like I wanted to stay home, stay in state and get all the in-state love.”

Rome is the latest Dream Team recruit for the Bulldogs from the state of Georgia. The Dawgs also hope to land a commitment from Rome’s teammate Malcom Mitchell, who will announce his decision this evening.
