Five-star offensive tackle John Theus has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for the 2012 class. Theus’ pledge to Georgia is huge due to their need for impact players on the offensive line.
Theus (6-6, 292, 5.2) plays for The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. He had a huge list of offers from all of the top schools, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas and USC.
Rivals.com rates John Theus as a 5-star recruit, the No. 7 overall prospect and the No. 2 offensive lineman in the country.
Scout.com also rates Theus as a 5-star recruit, but has him as the No. 6 overall prospect and the No. 3 offensive lineman.
Theus’ older brother Nathan currently plays offensive line for the Bulldogs. Nathan signed with UGA in February.
John Theus is the 11th 2012 commitment for the Dawgs and the first offensive lineman. Due to lack of depth, head coach Mark Richt has stated that he would like to sign at least six offensive lineman in February.
