The 2011-12 Georgia Bulldogs Basketball Schedule was officially released by UGA today. The first game of the 2011-12 season will be an exhibition game Friday, November 4 (team TBA).
The first regular-season game for the Dawgs will be at home against the Wofford Terriers on Friday, November 11. Georgia then hosts Bowling Green (Nov. 13) and South Dakota State (Nov. 16) in the Athens Regional of the 2011 CBE Classic.
Georgia continues the CBE Classic in Kansas City Missouri on November 21 against the California Golden Bears. The Dawgs will then face either Missouri or Notre Dame in the championship game or the consolation game (Nov. 22).
After the CBE Classic, Georgia hits the road again to play Xavier (Nov. 25) and Colorado (Nov. 28). Both games are return games of home-and-home series’ that began last season.
On December 2, the Bulldogs will host the Cincinnati Bearcats in the 2011 Big East/SEC Challenge. Arch-rival Georgia Tech visits Stegeman on Dec. 7. After a 10 day break, the Hoop Dawgs travel to face the USC Trojans on Dec. 17. USC will play a return game next season in Athens.
Georgia closes out the non-conference portion of their schedule with home contests against Mercer (Dec. 20), Furman (Dec. 23), Winthrop (Dec. 27) and Delaware State (Dec. 30).
The 2012 SEC season opener for the Dawgs will be at Stegeman Coliseum against Alabama on Saturday, January 7 (7:00 p.m. ET – FSN/ESPN3.com).
All 16 of Georgia’s 2011 SEC games will be televised, either on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FSN, CSS or the SEC Network. Every SEC game will also be available on ESPN3.com.
As previously announced, Georgia will be featured twice on ESPN’s Super Tuesday: at Florida on Jan. 10 and home vs. Kentucky on Jan. 24.
The 2012 SEC Tournament will be held at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans and begins on Thursday, March 8.
