Georgia tentatively set to host ULM Warhawks in 2015

SicEmDawgs.com

ULMThe Georgia Bulldogs are tentatively set to host the ULM Warhawks in 2015, Sicemdawgs.com has learned via a document obtained from UGA.

Georgia and ULM have a “Memorandum of Understanding” to play at Sanford Stadium in Athens on November 7, 2015. UGA will pay ULM a $1.2 million guarantee for the contest. That amount is now the highest Georgia has offered to an opponent since agreeing to pay Florida Atlantic $1 million for a game in 2012.

The Warhawks are the third non-conference game scheduled for the Bulldogs in 2015. Georgia has a memorandum of understanding to host the Southern Jaguars in their season opener on September 5 (for $650,000) and will travel to Georgia Tech on November 28.

The week prior to the ULM game, Georgia plays Florida in Jacksonville (Oct. 31). It is very likely that Auburn will follow the ULM game on Nov. 14. Georgia will then have a non-conference game or an open date on Nov. 21 before traveling to Georgia Tech on Nov. 28.

Georgia leads the overall series against ULM 3-0. The Dawgs dominated the Warhawks in all three contests, winning 70-6 in 1994, 42-3 in 1997 and 44-7 in 2005.

Georgia’s future non-conference schedules are set through 2014. The Dawgs need one more game in 2015 and two in 2016.

Update (08/12/11) – This game is now firm as Georgia and ULM have signed the contract.
