Jakar HamiltonGeorgia Bulldogs safety Jakar Hamilton will transfer from UGA for “personal reasons,” the school announced today.

Hamilton was out for the season after suffering an ankle injury in pre-season. Hamilton would have been a senior in 2011 without the injury. He played in 13 games in 2010 and started five times recording 27 tackles and one interception.

Hamilton signed with the Dawgs in 2010 after attending Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. He went to GMC after graduating from Strom Thurmond High School in Edgeville, SC.
