Georgia tops Bowling Green 63-54 in Progressive CBE Classic

2011 Progressive CBE ClassicGerald Robinson scored 15 points to lead the Georgia Bulldogs over the Bowling Green Falcons in the first round of the 2011 Progressive CBE Classic.

Georgia’s last field goal came with 4:45 remaining in the game. After that, Bowling Green started to foul. The Dawgs then put the game away at the line hitting 10 of 15 free throws.

For the second consecutive game, freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored in double-figures with 11. He also had 6 rebounds, an assist and a block.

Although Georgia led throughout most of the game, the Dawgs were beaten badly on the boards 44-28. The Falcons turned that margin into 16 second-chance points compared to just two for Georgia.

With the win, Georgia improves to 2-0 on the season. Their next game in the tournament is against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in Athens (Wed., Nov. 16, 2011 – 7:00 p.m. ET – No TV).
