DB Quincy Mauger commits to Georgia for 2013

Quincy MaugerQuincy Mauger, a defensive back from Marietta, Georgia, verbally committed to the Bulldogs today during UGA’s Dawg Night recruiting event.

Mauger’s commitment gives the Dawgs 20 overall for the 2013 class. He is the third defensive back commitment for Georgia, joining J.J. Green, Tray Matthews and Steven Nelson.

“Yes sir, I committed,” Mauger told UGASports.com today.

Mauger (6-0, 197, 4.53) plays safety at Kell High School. He also had offers from Iowa State and UCF and some interest from Tennessee.

Scout.com rates Mauger as a 3-star recruit and the no. 76 safety in the country.

Georgia’s annual Dawg Night recruiting event is just getting underway in Athens. We expect to see several more commitments today and/or over the weekend.
