SicEmDawgs.com

Juwan Parker2013 shooting guard Juwan Parker of Tulsa, OK (Booker T. Washington) has verbally committed to Mark Fox and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Parker (6-5, 200) is rated by Rivals.com as a 3-star recruit, the no. 15 shooting guard, and no. 117 in the 2013 Rivals150. Scout.com also rates him 3-stars and the no. 30 shooting guard.

Georgia won Parker’s commitment over Memphis and Stanford. Other schools that offered him a scholarship include Baylor, Mercer, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, and Vanderbilt.

In a journal sent to UGASports.com, Parker stated the following:

“I’ll be taking my talents to Athens, Georgia to play for the University of Georgia Bulldogs! UGA! UGA!! UGA!!! Dawg Nation!!!”

“The decision to play for Coach Fox goes way back to the days I was knee high to a grasshopper. Coach Fox, as an assistant at Kansas State, recruited my older brother– Jason. At that time, Coach Fox visited my home and left a lasting impression on my parents. He and my brother remained in contact over the years and formed a lasting relationship. Coach Johnson, is like a member of the family. I have known him my whole life and he coached Jason as an assistant at Tulsa University. My dad taught and mentored him as an undergraduate and law student at Tulsa University. Because of these relationships attending the University of Georgia is just like visiting family, which was the main factor in my decision.”

Parker is UGA’s second commitment for the 2012-13 class, joining 3-star point guard J.J. Frazier. Both can sign their letters of intent when the Fall period begins on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.
