Georgia Bulldogs announce 2013 Football Schedule

Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs have officially announced their 2013 football schedule. UGA will open the season at the Clemson Tigers on August 31.

On September 8, Georgia welcomes the South Carolina Gamecocks who return to their usual position on the schedule. That should make the Ol’ Ball Coach happy.

After an open date, the Bulldogs host North Texas on Sept. 21 followed by the LSU Tigers on Sept. 28. Georgia then hits the road to face Tennessee on Oct. 5 before returning home to host the Missouri Tigers on Oct. 12.

The Missouri game breaks up Tennessee and Vanderbilt, which have been back-to-back on Georgia’s schedule for some time. Georgia heads to Vanderbilt on Oct. 19.

After their second open date of the season, Georgia heads to Jacksonville to take on the Florida Gators on Nov. 2. The following week, Georgia hosts Appalachian State in Athens.

In a scheduling twist, Georgia will head to Auburn for the second consecutive season on Nov. 16.

“Our number one priority throughout this process was to protect our long-standing rivalry game against Auburn, and in order to keep this series intact, it necessitated a return to Auburn in 2013” UGA athletics director Greg McGarity said today. “We will start working on the 2014 rotating SEC schedule this Spring, and we can confirm that Auburn will be returning to Athens in 2014.”

The Bulldogs close out the 2013 regular season with Kentucky at home on Nov. 23 followed by a trip to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech on Nov. 30.

The 2013 SEC Championship Game will be played on Dec. 7 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
