UGA junior quarterback Aaron Murray will return to the Bulldogs in 2013. Murray made his announcement yesterday on Twitter.

“Blessed to be the QB for the Dawgs, not ready to leave just yet. Time to get back to work & help lead this team to a championship. #GoDawgs”

Murray (6-1, 210) is a three-year starter for the Bulldogs. He is the first quarterback in SEC history to pass for over 3,000 yards in each of his first three seasons.

In 2012, Murray led the Dawgs to a 12-2 record, an SEC Eastern Division title, and a Capital One Bowl victory over Nebraska. For the season, he was 249-of-386 for 3,893 yards, 36 touchdowns and ten interceptions. He also had three rushing touchdowns.

In his three seasons at Georgia, Murray has completed 696 of 1,131 passes (61.5%) for 10,091 yards and 95 touchdowns.

In a statement this morning, head coach Mark Richt applauded Murray’s decision.

“I’m certainly pleased that after weighing his options Aaron has decided to remain at Georgia for his senior year. His leadership and productivity have been tremendous during what has been an outstanding career. This is great for Aaron and great for Georgia.”
