Small forward Kenny Paul Geno has committed to Mark Fox and Georgia basketball for the 2013 class.

Geno (6-6, 200) plays for Booneville High School in Booneville, Mississippi. As a senior, he averaged 22.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game.

Schools that Georgia beat for Geno’s commitment include Jackson State, Lamar, Mercer, Middle Tennessee, and Radford. Other schools that reportedly showed late interest were Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, and Florida Gulf Coast.

Geno joins signees J.J. Frazier and Juwan Parker in Georgia’s 2012-13 recruiting class. The early signing period began today and runs through May 15.

A scholarship for Kenny Paul Geno opened up on Monday after UGA All-American sophomore Kentavious Caldwell-Pope declared for the NBA Draft.

I hear you. Unfortunately, this is the type of recruit we usually have to settle for. Someone who we HOPE blossoms into an SEC caliber player. We have a roster full of them.
