4-Star OL Patrick Allen commits to UGA

Patrick Allen

The Georgia Bulldogs received their 2nd verbal commitment in the last two days when offensive lineman Patrick Allen committed early Monday evening.

News of his commitment was first reported by 247Sports, but Allen himself announced it shortly afterwards via Twitter.

Allen (6-5, 285) committed to the Bulldogs over his top four schools Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Other top schools to offer Allen include Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Penn State, USC, and Wisconsin.

“I’ve just been thinking about Georgia a lot,” Allen told Dawgs247. “It has been on my heart and on my mind so I thought I should go ahead and do it. It felt right.”

“I just felt so comfortable at Georgia. It felt like home. It was a great visit. Just the coaches and the facilities and everything were great. It was perfect. I loved it.”

Allen will, however, still take his remaining official visits to Oklahoma (Sept. 13), Michigan (Sept. 27), Tennessee (Oct. 4), and Arkansas (Oct. 11). His last official visit will be to Athens to see the Bulldogs take on Auburn on November 15.

In the 247Sports Composite Ratings, Patrick Allen is listed as a four-star recruit, the No. 24 offensive tackle, and No. 238 overall in the country.

Rivals.com rates Allen four-stars, the No. 11 offensive tackle, and No. 95 in the Rivals100 2015.

The Bulldogs now have three commitments on the offensive line for the 2015 class. Allen joins Sage Hardin of Atlanta and DeVondre Seymour of Suwanee, Georgia.
