One of the key pieces to close out UGA’s 2015 recruiting class is four-star outside linebacker Roquan Smith of Montezuma, Georgia (Macon County).
Smith (6-2, 205) is rated as the No. 5 outside linebacker in the country in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 6 OLB by Rivals.com. He currently has offers from most of the top schools in the country, but his top four are Georgia, Michigan, Texas A&M, and UCLA.
Roquan Smith will make his announcement on National Signing Day this Wednesday at 11am ET. His decision will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
Most people expect Smith to pick the Dawgs, and the 247Sports Crystal Ball has him as 91% to Georgia:
But there has been a late push to land Smith by new Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. In addition, Texas A&M has made a late run with new defensive coordinator John Chavis. Smith is also visiting UCLA this weekend.
Hopefully Roquan Smith ends up picking the Dawgs and bolstering another Top 10 recruiting class. Currently, Georgia’s 2015 class is rated 6th by both 247Sports and Rivals.com.
