Three-star defensive back Tyrique McGhee of Fort Valley, GA (Peach County) has committed to UGA for the class of 2016.

“I am officially committed to the G!!” McGhee told Dawgs247. “It feels great. It feels right!”

McGhee (5-10, 168) committed to the Bulldogs over offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and South Carolina and interest from several more top schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Missouri, and Notre Dame.

In the 247Sports Composite rankings, McGhee is listed as a 3-star recruit, the No. 57 athlete, and the No. 764 overall recruit.

McGhee is also listed as a 3-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

“It’s a hard commitment.” McGhee told UGASports.com. “I’m solid. It’s a hard commit. You know, something crazy could happen, but I’m a Dawg. I’ll be signing Georgia papers. Just wait for 2016. We’ve got North Carolina the first game of the season, and we’re looking forward to the start. I just want to say ‘Go Dawgs.’ Tell everyone I’ve got the state on lockdown.”

Tyrique McGhee is the sixth commitment for Georgia for the class of 2016. He joins 5-star QB Jacob Eason, 4-star OT Ben Cleveland, 4-star DE Chauncey Manac, 4-star RB B.J. Emmons, and 3-star OL Aaron Dowdell.
