ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia football team practiced in shoulder pads and shorts on Friday at the Woodruff Practice Fields in preparation for the Bulldogs’ first scrimmage of the spring. It was the sixth workout of the spring for the Bulldogs.

It was also the conclusion of the spring coaching clinic, which featured an appearance by 2014 NFL Man of the Year Thomas Davis of the Carolina Panthers prior to practice. Over 300 high school coaches from across the state registered for the annual two-day clinic.

“We had a little shorter practice today,” head coach Mark Richt said after Friday’s session. “Tomorrow is a very important day. It’s the first scrimmage of the spring and practice number seven. We’re almost halfway through. We’ll find out where we’re at tomorrow.”

The Bulldogs will conduct their first scrimmage of the spring schedule on Saturday afternoon at Sanford Stadium, as the team gears up for the annual G-Day Spring Game, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. Georgia will kick off the 2015 season against the University of Louisiana Monroe in Athens on September 5.
