3-Star WR Darion Anderson commits to Georgia

Three-star wide receiver Darion Anderson of Warner Robins, Georgia (Houston County) has committed to Georgia for the class of 2016.

Anderson (6-1, 170) committed to the Bulldogs over Cincinnati. He also had offers from Boston College, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Marshall, Samford, and Wake Forest.

Wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon and tight ends coach John Lilly were Anderson’s primary recruiters for UGA.

In the 247Sports Composite rankings, Darion Anderson is listed as a 3-star recruit, the No. 64 wide receiver, and the No. 385 overall recruit.

Anderson is also listed as a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com and as a 4-star recruit by Scout.com.

Darion Anderson was named the Region 2-AAAAA Player of the Year after his junior season. That year, he caught 55 passes for 1,262 yards and 18 touchdowns, rushed four times for 65 yards and a TD, and returned 11 punts for 281 yards and a TD.

On defense, Anderson recorded 62 total tackles (four for a loss), one sack, one interception, and two fumble recoveries.

Darion Anderson is the 7th commitment for Georgia for the class of 2016 and first at the wide receiver position. He joins two other offensive skill position commitments for UGA: 5-star quarterback Jacob Eason and 4-star running back B.J. Emmons.
