UGA offensive lineman DeVondre Seymour has decided to discontinue playing football, UGA head coach Mark Richt announced on Thursday.

“I met with DeVondre and he feels strongly that football is not
what he wants to do,” said Richt. “We do wish him well in whatever career he chooses to pursue.”

Seymour, who played at North Gwinnett High School, signed with the Bulldogs in 2013 but did not qualify academically. He enrolled at Hinds (Miss.) Community College and then signed with the Bulldogs again in February.

The departure of DeVondre Seymour leaves the Bulldogs with 13 offensive linemen on the roster, three of whom are incoming freshmen.
