Four-star running back Devwah Whaley of Beaumont, Texas (Central Senior) has committed to UGA for the class of 2016.

Whaley revealed his commitment to the Bulldogs on Thanksgiving via his Twitter account.

After careful consideration, extensive research, and continuous prayer, I have made my decision on where I will be attending college. First I would like to thank all of the schools who recruited me. I don’t think I would have made a bad decision wherever I decided to go. I would also like to thank my coaches at Central for making me the player I am today. Finally I would like to thank my family for their support throughout this process, especially my mom, who is my biggest fan…….as I enter the next chapter of my life story, I will be a Georgia bulldog…..Commit to the “G”

Whaley (6-0, 209) committed to the Bulldogs over offers from most of the top schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, and Texas.

In the 247Sports Composite, Devwah Whaley is listed as a 4-star recruit, the No. 4 running back, and the No. 131 overall recruit.

Rivals.com also rates Whaley four-stars, the No. 9 running back, and the No. 244 overall recruit for 2016.

Georgia now has 18 commitments for the class of 2016 and Whaley is the second running back. Four-star running back Elijah Holyfield, the son of Evander Holyfield, committed to the Bulldogs in September.
