Kirby Smart’s first recruiting class has begun to wrap up nicely. Although the action has substantially slowed down, Georgia has racked up some nice talent and looks to be in good shape for the 2016 season. The 9am hour was full of headlines and top signees announcing they’ll spend the next few seasons at the University of Georgia.

The action may have been a bit of a blur, so let’s take a look at how Georgia has risen up the recruiting rankings this morning, as a bulk of the recruiting action is complete.

Hard Commits

Three-star DB Tyrique McGhee

Three-star OL Chris Barnes

Four-star OLB Chauncey Manac

Three-star P Marshall Long

Four-star TE Charlie Woerner

Four-star RB Elijah Holyfield

Three-star OL Solomon Kindley

Decided on Georgia

Four-star JUCO WR Javon Wims (Hard commit – decided between Georgia and South Carolina)

Five-star ATH Mecole Hardman Jr. (decided between Alabama, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee and Georgia)

Flips

Three-star WR Tyler Simmons (flipped from Alabama)

What’s Ahead

Although a bulk of the action may have finished, the drama for Georgia may not be done yet. The Bulldogs still have names on the board, including five-star recruits E.J Price, Derrick Brown, and Lyndell “Mack” Wilson and three-star Auburn commit David Marshall as a potential flip. These three top-tier recruits are all top targets for Kirby Smart and staff, and would bring a big boost to the Bulldogs in positions of need.

Lyndell “Mack” Wilson, who is ranked No. 26 in the Rivals100, will make his announcement at 2pm on ESPN2. He will be deciding between Georgia and Alabama.

David Marshall will also announce his decision at 2pm, as Smart and staff are hoping for a flip. Marshall is an Auburn commit and underrated as he is expected to make an impact at his college football program of choice.

E.J. Price is one of Smart’s biggest targets overall. Price took an official visit to Athens this past weekend, and has a very big decision to make. His announcement will take place at 2:45pm on 11Alive. He is considering Georgia, Auburn, LSU or USC.

Derrick Brown will be the final deciding factor for Georgia on the day. Brown is ranked as the nation’s ninth overall player, and deciding between Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee. He will announce at 3:05pm on ESPN2.

It has been said that if Georgia is to sign these recruits, the Bulldogs would be in the running for the nation’s top class. However, Georgia fans shouldn’t be disappointed if these recruits decide to go elsewhere, as Georgia has already stocked up on a great deal of talent.

In an interview with Chuck Dowdle for georgiadogs.com, head coach Kirby Smart said, “It’s not about how many you get, it’s about who you get.” Smart conveys a strong message to fans, saying that he’s exercised full effort to get the right athletes to Georgia, and believes he has what it takes to build a program, beginning this season.
