During the early signing period in November, UGA basketball head coach Mark Fox inked a couple of standouts — four-star power forward Rayshaun Hammonds and three-star forward Nicolas Claxton.

On Monday, Fox added another recruit to the 2016-17 class when three-star guard Teshaun Hightower committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.

“I chose Georgia because I feel like I can get better there,” Hightower told UGASports.com. “If I work hard, I could have a chance to start there. It’s a good fit for me.”

Hightower (6-4, 185) plays for Mt. Zion Prep in Baltimore, Maryland. He committed to the Bulldogs over Auburn, La Salle, NC State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Saint Louis, Tennessee, UConn, Utah, and Western Kentucky.

Rivals.com currently rates Hightower as a three-star recruit, but he has no rating in the 247Sports Composite.

The Hoop Dawgs currently have one more scholarship to give and hope to land another blue chip recruit during the regular signing period that runs from April 12 through May 17, 2017.
