The Georgia Bulldogs have picked up a verbal commitment from five-star running back Zamir White of Laurinburg, North Carolina (Scotland County) for the class of 2018.

White announced his decision during a ceremony at his high school just after noon on Tuesday.

In the 247Sports Composite, Zamir White is listed as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 running back, and the No. 6 overall recruit for the 2018 class.

Rivals.com and Scout.com also rate White as a five-star recruit. Both services rank him as the No. 1 running back in the country.

White (6-1, 220) committed to the Bulldogs over Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, and Ohio State. He also held offers from most of the top schools, including Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.

With the commitment of Zamir White, the Georgia Bulldogs now have a total of seven recruits for the class of 2018. White is the first running back commitment and will join a backfield in 2018 consisting of Elijah Holyfield, Brian Herrien, and D’Andre Swift.
