Wide receiver Christian Owens of Griffin, Ga. (Griffin H.S.) has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. He is the 1st commitment for UGA’s 2015 recruiting class.

Owens (6-5, 205) committed to the Bulldogs at today’s G-Day Spring Game. He also has a scholarship offer from Vanderbilt.

“Yes sir. He committed to Georgia today,” Griffin head coach Steve Devoursney told UGASports.com.

Defensive tackle Dontavius Russell of Carrollton, Ga. (Carrollton H.S.) has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for 2014. He is the 4th commitment for UGA’s 2014 recruiting class.

“All my coaches mom and dad think Georgia is a great fit for me and I agree,” Russell told UGASports.com. “I just think it is a good place to be and a good fit.”

Four-star JUCO defensive tackle Toby Johnson committed to the Georgia Bulldogs during a ceremony at his school this afternoon.

“I will be taking my talents to the University of Georgia,” Johnson said. “When I went down there, not only was it the facilities, but Coach (Mark) Richt and Coach (Chris) Wilson. Coach Wilson and I have a great relationship. That’s what sold me right there. It was pretty much where I wanted to be.”

Four-star JUCO defensive tackle Toby Johnson is set to announce his college decision today at a 3 p.m. ET ceremony at his school.

Johnson will choose between Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma. Most UGA recruiting pundits don’t feel that he will pick the Dawgs and that could be due to academic issues.

Further adding to the speculation that he won’t pick Georgia, Johnson told the AJC that he hasn’t talked to the Bulldogs “in a while.”

Wednesday, February 6 is National Signing Day 2013. The Georgia Bulldogs are once again expected to sign a Top 10 class.

Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs currently have 30 verbal commitments. Of those 30 recruits, 13 are already enrolled at UGA. Rivals.com currently ranks Georgia’s 2013 class 10th in the nation.

The Dawgs are hoping to land a few of their big-time uncommitted targets:

Brendan Douglas, a fullback from Augusta, GA (Aquinas High School), has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for the 2013 recruiting class.

Douglas (6-0, 217, 4.46) had been committed to Georgia Tech since mid-November, but spurned the Yellow Jackets and flipped his commitment to the Bulldogs when he got a late offer.

National Signing Day 2013 is only five days away, and the Georgia Bulldogs are expected to sign another Top 10 class.

Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs currently have 29 verbal commitments. Of those 29 recruits, 13 are already enrolled at UGA.

Rivals.com currently ranks Georgia’s 2013 class 10th in the nation. They can certainly move up on signing day if they secure a few of their top remaining targets

UGA announced today that 13 football recruits for the 2013 class have enrolled early.

Ten of these recruits will count towards the 2012 class, so Georgia will be able to sign 25 more on National Signing Day for a total of 35.

Listed below are the 13 recruits that have enrolled at Georgia (more are still possible):

The Georgia Bulldogs have signed Chris Mayes, Jonathan Rumph, and Kennar Johnson, three JUCO football recruits for the 2013 recruiting class.

Mayes (6-4, 330) is a defensive lineman that will likely line up at nose guard for the Dawgs. The Rivals.com 3-star recruit graduated from Spalding High School in Griffin, Ga. and signed with the Bulldogs in 2011 as part of the “Dream Team.” However, he failed to qualify academically and has played the last two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Wide receiver Krenwick Sanders of Jesup, GA has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for 2014. He is the 3rd commitment for UGA’s 2014 recruiting class.

Sanders (6-2, 190) plays for Wayne County High School. As a freshman and sophomore, he combined for 86 receptions, 900+ yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. He also plays basketball and averaged 19 points and eight rebounds as a sophomore.

The Georgia Bulldogs picked up another verbal commitment last night, this one from Gulf Coast Community College safety Kennar Johnson. He is the 30th commitment for UGA’s 2013 recruiting class.

Johnson (6-2, 188) went to East Ridge High School in Clermont, Florida. He committed to the Bulldogs over offers from Iowa State and USF and interest from Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

The Georgia Bulldogs have picked up their second verbal commitment this week, this one from 4-star wide receiver Jonathon Rumph of Cayce, SC.

Rumph (6-5, 215, 4.5) went to Brookland-Cayce High School and currently attends Holmes Community College in Goodman, MS. He committed to the Bulldogs over Florida, Mississippi State, and Texas Tech, but also had offers from Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and others.

4-star cornerback Brendan Langley of Marietta, GA has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Langley was committed to South Carolina, but has now switched to UGA.

“I called Coach (Mark) Richt and told him I’m a Dawg,” Langley told UGASports.com.

Langley (6-1, 188) plays for Kell High School in Marietta. Besides the Gamecocks, he had offers from several top schools including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Tennessee, and UCLA.

4-star running back A.J. Turman of Orlando, Florida has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. UGA now has 27 commitments for the 2013 class.

Turman announced his decision this evening at Tommy Addison’s restaurant in Orlando. He committed to the Bulldogs over Auburn, Florida State, Miami (FL), and Tennessee.

4-star defensive tackle Kelsey Griffin of Hoschton, GA has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. UGA now has 29 commitments for the 2013 class.

“I am committing to Georgia,” Griffin told UGASports.com. “I fell in love with Georgia at first sight really and I just love it there. I just prayed about it and relied on God, and Georgia is where I wanted to go.”

Georgia has picked up their second verbal commitment from a safety in the last two days, this one from Mississippi JUCO Shaquille Fluker.

“I am committing to Georgia,” Fluker told UGASports.com. “When I went on my visit, I just liked being there and the idea of being part of that team. I liked how they wanted me and told me they wish I was down there so I could play now.”

Paris Bostick, a safety at Plant High School in Tampa, verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs this morning at his high school.

Bostick (6-1, 225) is rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com and the no. 39 safety in the country. Scout.com also rates him 3-stars and the no. 35 safety.

Georgia Military offensive lineman Trenton Brown verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs this morning. UGA now has 24 commitments for the 2013 class.

Brown (6-8, 350) hails from Albany, Georgia. He committed to the Bulldogs over offers from Arizona, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and others.

Scout.com rates Brown as a 4-star recruit while Rivals.com rates him 3-stars.

Tight end Jordan Davis of Thomson, Georgia verbally committed to the Bulldogs today. Georgia now has 23 commitments for the 2013 class.

Davis (6-4, 225) committed to the Bulldogs over offers from Florida, Louisville, and South Carolina and interest from Alabama. Scout.com rates Davis as a 3-star recruit and the no. 12 tight end in the country.

“I told Coach Richt that I was going to be a Bulldog,” Davis told UGASports.com.

Georgia has picked up their third verbal commitment in the last four days, this one from Brookwood (Snellville, GA) linebacker Shaun McGee.

McGee (6-3, 233) committed to the Dawgs over offers from Alabama, Florida, Louisville, Michigan State, North Carolina, Tennessee, and others.

Rivals.com rates McGee as a 3-star recruit. Scout.com also rates him as a 3-star recruit and the no. 49 defensive end in the country.
