The 2012 college football season has come to an end and the final polls are out. Georgia finished ranked 4th in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and 5th (tie) in the AP Poll.
Georgia’s final record was 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the SEC. The Bulldogs lost a heart breaker to eventual national champion Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, but the Dawgs bounced back to defeat Nebraska 45-31 in the 2013 Capital One Bowl.

Saturday’s 35-7 loss at #6 South Carolina continued a recent trend for the Georgia Bulldogs under head coach Mark Richt. Since 2008, the Bulldogs are 6-15 against teams that were ranked at the time of the game.
This is a stark contrast to what Richt and UGA accomplished from 2001 through 2007. Georgia went 24-13 vs. ranked teams during that time period and went undefeated (5-0) in both 2002 and 2007. After the 2007 season, the Dawgs have become less and less competitive in big games, and the numbers are alarming.

The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked 6th in the 2012 Preseason AP Top 25 Poll. It’s the same ranking that the Dawgs received in the preseason Coaches Poll.
Georgia received 1,107 total points and no first place votes. USC was voted no. 1, followed by Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Oregon.
Only two of Georgia’s 2012 opponents are ranked in the preseason poll. South Carolina is ranked 9th and Florida is 23rd.

The 2011 college football season has come to an end and the final polls are out. Georgia finished ranked 19th in the AP Poll and 20th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
Georgia’s final record was 10-4 overall and 7-1 in the SEC. However, the Dawgs lost their final two games, 42-10 vs. LSU in the SEC Championship Game and 33-30 vs. Michigan State in the Outback Bowl.

The Georgia Bulldogs have re-entered the AP Top 25 Poll. The Dawgs are ranked 24th and are tied with Arizona State.
Georgia was ranked 19th going into the 2011 season, but dropped out after losing to Boise State.
The Dawgs remain unranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll. However, they are first in “others receiving votes” meaning they are 26th. Arizona State leads Georgia in that poll by 26 votes.

Georgia was previously ranked 19th in the AP Poll and 22nd in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Dawgs are now 4th in the AP and 5th in the Coaches Poll in “others receiving votes.”

The 2010 preseason AP Top 25 Football Poll has been released and the Georgia Bulldogs are ranked 23rd. The Dawgs received 206 points and are 90 points behind the 22nd ranked Auburn Tigers.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are ranked first and received 54 first place votes. Ohio State, Boise State, Florida and Texas round out the Top 5.

After their 20-17 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils, the Georgia Bulldogs have moved up to 14th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and 18th in the AP Poll (Full Polls).
Also, the first Harris Poll of the season has been released. The Dawgs are 17th.

After their 24-10 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma State, the Georgia Bulldogs have dropped eight spots to 21st in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The victorious Cowboys rose from 9th to 5th in the AP poll and went from 11th to 6th in the Coaches Poll. Both polls can be viewed in their entirety at ESPN.com.

The 2009 preseason AP Top 25 Football Poll has been released and the Georgia Bulldogs are ranked 13th. The Dawgs received 714 points, 32 points behind 12th ranked California. Georgia is also ranked 13th in the USA Today Top 25 Poll.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys, Georgia’s first opponent of 2009, are 9th in the AP Poll.
