Aaron Murray threw five touchdown passes to lead the Georgia Bulldogs to a 45-31 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2013 Capital One Bowl.
Murray finished the game 18-of-33 for 427 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. His five touchdowns set a new record in the Capital One Bowl. Murray was also named the Capital One Bowl MVP.

The Georgia Bulldogs are set to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on New Year’s Day in the 2013 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The game will be televised nationally by ABC at 1 p.m. ET.
Georgia has played Nebraska once in their history, falling to the Cornhuskers 45-6 in the 1969 Sun Bowl in El Paso.
Georgia will be making their 48th bowl appearance and 3rd in the Capital One Bowl.

UGA senior defensive tackle John Jenkins will miss the Capital One Bowl game against Nebraska, head coach Mark Richt announced yesterday.
“John Jenkins won’t be here,” said Richt. “It’s academic related, he will not be at the bowl, and that will be all I’ll say about that. … I think John Jenkins has been awesome for Georgia. I’m really proud of everything he’s accomplished for us. Just really want to wish him the very best. He’s been a blessing for our program.”

Georgia and Alabama are set to face off in the 2012 SEC Championship Game on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET (CBS). The winner of that game is all but assured a spot in the 2013 BCS National Championship Game in Miami to face Notre Dame.
If Georgia does win, it would be their first BCS title game appearance and first shot at a national championship since beating Notre Dame in the 1981 Sugar Bowl. Obviously, we hope this is the scenario that unfolds for the Bulldogs.

Blair Walsh had a 47-yard field goal blocked in the 3rd overtime as the no. 17 Michigan State Spartans beat the no. 16 Georgia Bulldogs 33-30 in the 2012 Outback Bowl.
Georgia led the game 16-0 at halftime, but two third quarter interceptions by Aaron Murray led to 14 points for the Spartans. Late in the fourth, Murray hit Tavarres King for a 12-yard TD and then a two-point conversion to Brandon Boykin to take a 27-20 lead.

The 2011-12 college football bowl schedule is set. The bowl season begins on December 17, 2011 with the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, which features Temple vs. Wyoming.
Georgia accepted an invitation to the 2012 Outback Bowl on January 2 and will face the Michigan State Spartans of the Big Ten. The 2012 Allstate BCS National Championship Game on January 9 features the Alabama Crimson Tide against the LSU Tigers.

The Georgia Bulldogs were held to 280 yards of total offense as they fell to the UCF Knights 10-6 in the 2010 AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
Georgia finishes the 2010 season 6-7, the first losing record under head coach Mark Richt and first since 1996. The loss also snapped Georgia’s four-game bowl winning streak.

The first 27 minutes of the 2009 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl was a defensive struggle. But the last 3 minutes of the first half saw Texas A&M score, then UGA’s Brandon Boykin returned the kickoff 81-yards for a touchdown to tie the game. The Dawgs then blocked a punt to set up another score and a 14-7 halftime lead.
The Aggies tied the game on their opening possession of the second half, but Georgia answered with a Blair Walsh 49-yard field goal and never looked back. The Bulldogs went on to roll over Texas A&M 44-20.

The Georgia Bulldogs have accepted an invitation to the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana to face the Texas A&M Aggies of the Big 12 Conference. The game will be played on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN2 (Buy Tickets).
The Bulldogs’ bid to the Independence Bowl is less than they what they hoped for at the beginning of the year.
