South Carolina upsets Georgia 16-12

South Carolina handed the Georgia Bulldogs their first loss of the season Saturday, 16-12 in Athens. The Gamecock defense held the Georgia offense to four field goals and no touchdowns.

The last time the Bulldogs didn’t score a touchdown was in 2001 in a 14-9 loss to the Gamecocks.

Matthew Stafford completed only 19 of 44 passes for 213 yards and was intercepted on the Dawgs’ final offensive play. Knowshown Moreno led UGA in rushing with 104 yards on 14 carries.

Brandon Coutu provided the only scoring for Georgia, connecting on field goals of 33, 44, 39 and 34 yards. He missed a 48 yarder early in the 1st quarter.
