The Georgia Bulldogs were ranked 2nd in the final Associated Press Poll and 3rd in the final USA Today Coaches Poll, which were released after LSU's win over Ohio State in the 2008 BCS National Championship game. The Bulldogs completed a stellar season with a convincing 41-10 win over previously unbeaten Hawaii in the 2008 Sugar Bowl. Senior tailback Thomas Brown and redshirt freshman Knowshon Moreno split the tailback carries right down the middle and led the Bulldogs to a 24-13 win over the Kentucky Wildcats. Black Out In Athens As Georgia Rolls Over Auburn 45-20

Amidst a sea of Georgia fans wearing black, the Bulldogs warmed up in their usual red home jerseys. But after a team prayer in the dark, the Dawgs were presented black jerseys to wear against the Auburn Tigers.
