Georgia Bombs Mississippi Valley State 98-57

Freshman Trey Thompkins, playing in only his second collegiate game, came off the bench to score 23 points and lead the Georgia Bulldogs (5-1) to a 98-57 win over Mississippi Valley State (0-7). Drazen Zlovaric, also a freshman, added 16 points for the Bulldogs.

The game against Mississippi Valley State was the final game for the Bulldogs in the 2008 Dick’s Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off. The finals begin tonight at Madison Square Garden and feature Boston College vs. Purdue and UAB vs. Oklahoma.

Regarding the new freshmen, PaulWesterDawg of the GeorgiaSportsBlog has a good writeup on them.
