Dawgs and Rattlers Between the Hedges in 2010?

SicEmDawgs.com

The Georgia Bulldogs are still searching for their fourth and final non-conference football opponent in 2010. Could the Florida A&M Rattlers be a possibility? According to Tim Tucker of the AJC, the Dawgs have discussed a game but nothing is concrete yet.

UGA associate athletics director Arthur Johnson, who was interviewed by Tucker, also stated that “…a deal could be struck with someone else first.”

Florida A&M, also referred to as FAMU, is a member of the Football Championship Subdivision and plays in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The leagues coaches and sports information directors picked the Rattlers to finish second in the conference behind South Carolina State.

If the Rattlers were to visit Sanford Stadium, they would most likely bring the Marching 100, one of the premier bands in the world.

Confirmed non-conference opponents for the Dawgs in 2010 include Louisiana (Sept. 4), at Colorado (Oct. 2) and Georgia Tech (Nov. 27). UGA will play their usual SEC East opponents, and will face Arkansas and Mississippi State (away) from the West.
