Gators Send Dawgs Back to Earth

SicEmDawgs.com

Georgia basketball was sky high after their huge win over no. 8 Tennessee. But the Florida Gators sent the Dawgs back to earth in an 87-71 beat down in Gainesville.

This wasn’t too unexpected if you are an avid follower of Georgia hoops. Mark Fox’s Bulldogs are young and inexperienced. They also commit way too many unforced errors. In this game alone, the Dawgs turned the ball over 19 times and only benefited from 7 fouls called against the Gators (home teams usually get that advantage it seems).

The Bulldogs, who  have played poorly on the road the last few years, are now 0-6 on the road this year and 0-1 in on neutral courts outside the state of Georgia. The Dawgs’ lone win away from Stegeman came against Illinois at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth.

Trey Thompkins led the Bulldogs again, this time scoring 24 points. Ricky McPhee scored 21 points and Travis Leslie was held to only 11 points, but he did grab 8 rebounds. The Bulldogs bench was a disappointment, scoring only 7 points in 49 combined minutes of play.

Georgia travels again this Saturday and will face South Carolina in Columbia. The game will be televised by FSN at 7:00 p.m. ET.
