Georgia’s Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie were both selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft Thursday night.

Thompkins, a 6-10, 245-pound forward from Lithonia, was selected 37th overall. As a junior, he averaged 16.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. In each of his three seasons at UGA, Thompkins led the Dawgs in scoring and rebounding. He finished his collegiate career with 1,396 points (13th) and 693 rebounds (10th).

Leslie, a 6-4, 202-pound guard from Decatur, was selected 47th overall. He averaged 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his third and final season for the Bulldogs.

Thompkins and Leslie are the first UGA basketball players drafted into the NBA since Rashad Wright. Wright was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the final pick in the 2004 draft. Prior to Wright, Jarvis Hayes was drafted by the Washington Wizards in 2003.
