Georgia beats Notre Dame 61-57 to take 3rd Place in CBE Classic

2011 Progressive CBE ClassicFreshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored a career-high 16 points to lead Georgia over Notre Dame 61-57 in the consolation game of the 2011 Progressive CBE Classic.

Georgia led 31-29 at the half and led throughout most of the second half before the Fighting Irish tied the game at 53 with a little over five minutes remaining. With 3:37 left in the game, Caldwell-Pope hit a three-pointer to give the Dawgs the lead for good.

Caldwell-Pope and Nemanja Djurisic, neither of whom started, were the only two Bulldogs to score in double-figures. Djurisic finished the game with 10 points and three rebounds.

The win improves Georgia’s record to 4-1 and gives them 3rd place in the 2011 Progressive CBE Classic. Their next game is Friday, Nov. 25 at Xavier (8:00 p.m. ET – FSN).
