Cincinnati beats Georgia 57-51 in 2011 Big East/SEC Challenge

2011 Big-East/SEC ChallengeGeorgia led by as many as 12 points but again couldn’t hold the lead and fell to Cincinnati 57-51 in the 2011 HTC Big East/SEC Challenge in Athens. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 4-4 on the season.

Georgia built up a 12-point lead with two minutes remaining in the first half and led by nine at the break. But another cold shooting streak doomed the Dawgs midway through the second half.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the Bulldogs with 16 points, but was held scoreless in the second half until he hit a three-pointer with 8.8 seconds left in the game. Gerald Robinson didn’t start but scored 12. He was the only other Bulldog to score in double-figures.

Georgia ended the night shooting 36.2% (17-for-47) and 21.4% (3-for-14) from three-point range.

Next up for the Bulldogs is a home game against in-state rival Georgia Tech 0n Wed., Dec. 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET (FSN).
