Nemanja Djurisic came off the bench to score 19 points and Charles Mann added 18, but it wasn’t enough as Davidson beat Georgia 94-82 in the first round of the 2013 Charleston Classic on Thursday night.

The loss drops the Dawgs to 1-2 on the season. Georgia faces Temple, who lost to Clemson 72-58, tonight at 7pm ET on ESPN3.

Georgia trailed for a good portion of the first half, but finally took a brief lead with just over eight minutes remaining. But then Davidson went on a 13-4 run to end the half and keep the Bulldogs at bay.

Kenny Gaines scored 13 points and Cameron Forte added 10 in the losing effort.

The Bulldogs actually shot well in the game, making 29-of-52 (55.8%) and 5-of-12 (41.7%) from three-point range.

But it was the volume of turnovers (16) that doomed the Dawgs. On the glass, Georgia and Davidson were almost even with 30 and 31 rebounds, respectively.

Sophomore forward Brandon Morris did not play for the third straight game. He is serving some internal discipline imposed by head coach Mark Fox.
