2014 wide receiver Rico Johnson of Swainsboro, GA has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Johnson is UGA’s 17th verbal commitment for the class of 2014.

Johnson posted the news and a picture of himself with head coach Mark Richt on Instagram earlier today.

My decision is made this will be my coach for the nxt 4 years and again I wanna thanks to all the college coaches who was willing to offer me but at the end of the day there’s no place like home #GoDawgs!

Johnson (5-11, 188) signed with the Bulldogs in 2013, but did not qualify academically and ended up going to prep school at Atlanta Sports Academy in Dawsonville, GA.

Before signing with Georgia in 2013, Johnson was rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com and the no. 82 wide receiver in the country.

This time around, Johnson committed to the Dawgs over offers from Marshall, Maryland, Middle Tennessee, and West Virginia.

“I will be playing receiver but I will also be helping in the return game,” Johnson told UGASports.com. “I’ll be catching punts and kicks and stuff. I love it (being a return man). I am comfortable with it and I think I can be great at it.”
