Two UGA linebackers named Butkus Award semi-finalists

UGA linebackers Jordan Jenkins and Ramik Wilson have been named Butkus Award 2014 Collegiate Semi-Finalists, the Butkus Foundation announced this morning.

The Butkus Award, named in honor of Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus, is presented by the Butkus Foundation to the nation’s top linebacker.

A UGA linebacker has never won the Butkus Award.

Jordan Jenkins, a 6-foot-3, 252-pound junior outside linebacker from Hamilton, GA, has recorded 55 tackles and has 5 1/2 tackles for loss this season.

Ramik Wilson, a 6-foot-2, 237-pound senior inside linebacker from Tampa, FL, has recorded 38 tackles, 6 1/2 tackles for loss and 3 1/2 sacks.

Finalists for the collegiate and high school divisions will be named Monday, Nov. 24. Winners of the award will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
