JUCO linebacker Chuks Amaechi has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for the class of 2015, 247Sports reported this afternoon.

Amaechi officially visited Athens for the Georgia Tech game. Although the Bulldogs lost, he obviously came away impressed and committed to the Dawgs.

“I was in the office with Coach (Mark) Richt and Coach Ekeler, and they were just telling me how my future could be in Athens and how I could kind of restart at UGA. At the end of the conversation Coach Richt said, ‘Are you ready to be a Bulldog?’ and I just said, ‘Yes, sir.'”

Amaechi (6-3, 220) currently attends Arizona Western Community College in Yuma, Arizona. He played high school ball at Westview High in Yuma.

Other schools that have offered Amaechi include North Texas and Southern Miss. He also had interest from Cincinnati and Arizona State.

In the 247Sports Composite JUCO rankings, Chuks Amaechi is rated as a two-star recruit, the No. 10 inside linebacker, and the No. 175 overall player in the country. He is also rated as the No. 12 recruit in the State of Arizona.

Amaechi, who was recruited by Mike Ekeler, plans to enroll at UGA in January and participate in Spring practice.

The Georgia Bulldogs now have 25 commitments for the 2015 class and four of those are linebackers. Amaechi  joins current UGA linebacker commitments Gary McRae, Natrez Patrick, and Juwan Taylor.

UGA’s 2015 recruiting class is currently rated 2nd Rivals.com and 3rd by 247Sports.
