UGA moves up to 9th in College Football Playoff rankings

After beating Charleston Southern 55-9, the Georgia Bulldogs have moved up to 9th in the College Football Playoff rankings that were released tonight by the Selection Committee.

This is the highest ranking so far for Georgia, which was initially ranked 11th in the CFP rankings. They fell to 20th after losing to Florida 38-20 and then moved up to 15th after beating Kentucky 63-31.

Alabama remained in the top spot, and the Crimson Tide are followed by Oregon in 2nd, Florida State in 3rd, and Mississippi State in 4th.

Other ranked SEC teams include Auburn (15), Missouri (17), and Ole Miss (19).

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their Top 25 rankings each week on Tuesday through Dec. 2.

On Sunday, Dec. 7 at 12:45pm ET on ESPN, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the Playoff Semifinal pairings and semifinal bowl assignments. At 2:45pm ET, the committee will announce the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowl pairings, as well as the final top 25 rankings. They will also announce the pairing for the Orange Bowl.
