UGA drops to 14th in College Football Playoff rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs have dropped to 14th in the College Football Playoff rankings that were released tonight by the Selection Committee. Georgia fell to Georgia Tech 30-24 in overtime on Saturday.

Prior to the Georgia Tech game, the Bulldogs had achieved their highest CFP ranking at No. 9. The Yellow Jackets have now moved up spots to No. 12.

Alabama remained in the top spot, and the Crimson Tide are followed by Oregon in 2nd, TCU in 3rd, and Florida State in 4th. FSU continues to fall even though they are undefeated.

Other ranked SEC teams include Ole Miss (12), Missouri (16), Auburn (19), and LSU (24).

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their Top 25 rankings each week on Tuesday through Dec. 2.

On Sunday, Dec. 7 at 12:45pm ET on ESPN, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the Playoff Semifinal pairings and semifinal bowl assignments. At 2:45pm ET, the committee will announce the Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowl pairings, as well as the final top 25 rankings. They will also announce the pairing for the Orange Bowl.
