SEC media picks Georgia to finish third in the East

The Georgia Bulldogs were picked to finish third in the East in 2016 in the annual SEC preseason media survey. The Tennessee Volunteers were picked to finish first.

Since 1992, the SEC Media Days predicted champion has proceeded to win the SEC Championship only five times.

Listed below is the predicted order of finish with first-place votes in parentheses:

SEC East

  1. Tennessee (225)
  2. Florida (57)
  3. Georgia (45)
  4. Kentucky
  5. Vanderbilt (2)
  6. Missouri
  7. South Carolina (2)

SEC West

  1. Alabama (246)
  2. LSU (76)
  3. Ole Miss (5)
  4. Texas A&M (3)
  5. Arkansas (1)
  6. Auburn
  7. Mississippi State

The voters also picked the Crimson Tide to win the 2016 SEC Championship Game. LSU placed second in the voting, followed by Tennessee (3rd), Georgia (4th), Florida (5th), Ole Miss (6th), Texas A&M (7th), South Carolina (8th), Vanderbilt (9th), and Arkansas (10th).
