The Georgia Bulldogs will host the UAB Blazers in 2021, according to an announcement by UAB on Thursday.

Georgia will host UAB at Sanford Stadium in Athens on Sept. 11, 2021. The game will be the third meeting between the two schools. The Bulldogs defeated the Blazers 16-13 in 2003 and 34-0 in 2006.

Georgia now has two non-conference games announced for the 2021 season. The Bulldogs are also slated to play at in-state rival Georgia Tech on Nov. 27.

SEC opponents in 2021 for Georgia include Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, and Arkansas at home and Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida (in Jacksonville) on the road.

“Playing at the University of Georgia is an incredible opportunity for our team. It’s also close in proximity to UAB so that our loyal fans can more easily travel to see the Blazers play,” said UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram. “We want to put together a schedule that creates excitement as our momentum in Birmingham continues to reach new heights, and playing at Georgia helps us do exactly that.”

Update (10/3/2017)

Georgia will pay UAB a $1.8 million guarantee for the game.
